My thoughts on the trip (by baby Nicholas)

Hi. I am Nicholas – the youngest member of my family. I am seven months old and I want to tell you what I think of our family’s travels and experiences so far. First of all, I think my mum and dad will want you to know that I am growing and developing very well, I am exceptionally contented and healthy. I got over jet lag quickly, settled into a predictable daily routine, and have generally been happy. I have stayed at houses in Chevreuse, St Martin le Beau, Noailhac, and Quillan, and I have slept well at each of those places.

I am loving the food they serve me. All my meals are pureed or mashed because I don’t have enough teeth to chew solids. I prefer meals with a bit of meat in them, but I don’t mind just mashed vegetables once per day. When I’m hungry, which is often, I can eat more than you would expect of a person my size. This might not sound very important to you, but actually it’s an important part of my life. Meal times and bath times are my favourite times.

Life is good. I go everywhere with my family: in the car, in the buggy, or carried in a sling. The sling is convenient, as I can sleep in it and mum or dad can carry me off-road. I have been into several ruined castles, and on forest trails. You want to know what makes me laugh? First, my brothers. They’re a bit crazy, in a good way. Second, splashing in the bath. Third, walking. I don’t roll over or crawl and I can’t balance but I love standing or trying to walk.

  1. Thank you baby Nicholas! Great to hear from you. We had wondered how you were getting on and whether you were enjoying life in France. It sould as if you have settled in well and thriving from all the loving care and attention you are getting from your big brothers, Oliver and Tomos, as well as from Mum and Dad.I’m glad you enjoy your meal times – I enjoy mine too. Keep it up and you will soon have more teeth and building up more strength in those little legs in preparation for walking and playing games with your big brothers. I love the photo of you in your little red striped suit with Oliver. Also the ones of you in the sling with Dad and Mum. Also looks like you have some pretty neat things to play with in the apartment so no wonder you are sitting up proudly with such a beautiful smile on your face! Keep it up darling!
