After driving about 350 km, we have arrived tired but happy at our accommodation for five nights in the Bordeaux area.
Being a public holiday, there were very few trucks on the motorways, so the motorway driving was reasonably good, but it was still a long way and quite tiring. The main purpose of this long-weekend trip is for me to run the marathon at Sauternes on Sunday. Tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday we will probably explore some of the region, but at this moment the idea of not spending much time in the car appeals. The accommodation has a huge lawn out the front and the weather is good so we might have to add ‘football’ to our shopping list for the morning. After five weeks in France, this is our first opportunity to run around on a large clean lawn.
Looks a nice lawn. Enjoy the freedom and the grass under your feet!
